Teachers, it’s time to design the class of your dreams!
For our second year, The San Marcos Promise is proud to offer LEAP, (Learning Enrichment to Achieve the Promise) an exciting summer enrichment opportunity for students. This program, for students entering grades K-6 in the 2017 – 18 school year, is intended to provide enrichment courses designed and taught by talented SMUSD educators.
A recent poll of parents suggests interest in a variety of courses from character development and leadership to STEAM, VAPA, culinary arts and youth government. Our goal is to provide students the chance to take a LEAP into summer by enrolling in a course designed to build pathways to 21st Century Success. Who better to design these pathways than our very own passionate teachers?
This year we are seeking proposals for five-day and ten-day sessions. All sessions will run Monday through Friday. Teachers will perform duties as consultants for The San Marcos Promise and be paid the hourly rate, including one hour of prep time per day. Classes must enroll a minimum of 12 students in order to be funded. Teachers will be paid an additional 25% of the enrollment fees per student enrolled in a class beyond 12 and class sizes are capped at 24.
Session 1 July 10 – July 14 Site to be determined
Session 2 July 17 – July 21 Site to be determined
Combined July 10 – July 21 Site to be determined
Please consider submitting a proposal by clicking here. Proposals will be accepted from Monday, January 23 until Monday, February 6.
