Anasia Cuevas

By August 26, 2019 Scholar Spotlight

Scholar Bio

My name is Anasia Cuevas and I have had the amazing opportunity to graduate from San Marcos High School with the PACE promise. I am currently going to school at CSUSM and plan to for the next 3 years since I just finished my first year! Some personal hobbies are, Painting, Listening to Music, Writing Poetry, Photography, and caring for the foster kids we take care of. My family has been taking care of foster kids ever since I was born (2000) and have cared for over 14 kids. Being able to help in giving them a new chance at life, is such an amazing feeling and with whatever career path I end up choosing, that is my main goal, to help others, and by helping others, I help myself.

How the San Marcos Promise Impacted You

The San Marcos Promise has been such a blessing and I feel so grateful to have had this opportunity, and being able to be a scholar and represent what the PACE Promise has offered us. Being able to be apart of an elite number of students also gives me motivation and pride to always do my best and give back to the people who helped me in High School and now that I am in college.

Something About You That is a Surprise

I am currently a pool manager (Head Lifeguard) for the City of San Marcos at the Las Posas and Woodland Park pools, and have my Lifeguard, Lifeguard Instructor, and Water Safety Instructor Certifications. I was on the competitive swim team called North Coast Aquatics for 6 years, so I have a passion for the water and public safety.
