Scholar Bio

I am a second year student at Cal State University San Marcos. My major is Marketing and I am also minoring in Spanish. I am involved on campus with Intervarsity and the Marketing Society. I work on campus for Campus Tours and I am able to give tours to prospective students. I enjoy hockey, mountain biking and surfing. I hope to one day work in sports marketing and work in a field that I am very passionate about.

How the San Marcos Promise Impacted You

The San Marcos Promise has provided a strong and clear path for me to go to CSUSM. It has made college be more affordable and has helped to lessen the burden of paying for a college education. It is great to have the support of people from my school district that I grew up in to support me in now my college career. It is more than a scholarship, but something that empowers me to accomplish my career goals when I am at school. I am very thankful to be a PACE Promise scholar.

Something About You That is a Surprise

I am legally blind and I play on the US Blind Hockey team, which is an adapted version of ice hockey for blind people. The sport is continuing to grow and the goal is to have it in the 2026 Paralympics. My vision has brought many challenges, but it is people and organizations like PACE promisse that help me through it and empower me to adapt and overcome.
