Scholar Bio

I am a second year- college student and a San Marcos Promise
scholar at CSUSM. Before attending college, I went to Mission Hills High School
right here in San Marcos. Throughout my secondary education, I
became involved in numerous clubs and activities. For example, I was the
president of a charitable society known as L.E.O. Club during my senior year of
high school. By possessing different leadership roles as an upperclassman,
I learned that I had a passion for managing different clubs and
organizations. When the time came to pick a college major, I decided that
business management would allow me to practice this passion. I have
studied business at CSUSM for a little over a year now, and I absolutely love
it! In addition to taking business classes, I have became involved in the
Tukwut Leadership Circle and the Society for Human Resource Management.
I am also the current president of the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society.
Inspired by my mother who is an entrepreneur, I desire to receive a Bachelor
of Science in business management with an emphasis in human resources in
2021. As a first-year college student, I was determined to make my family
and loved ones proud. I hope to one day attend graduate school and then
land a career in a corporation’s human resources department.

How the San Marcos Promise Impacted You

The San Marcos Promise has provided me with the financial
and academic assistance needed to succeed. Without this opportunity, I’m sure
I wouldn’t feel nearly as supported as I do today. I know the Promise will be
there for me through every step of my educational journey.

Something About You That is a Surprise

I was in A.V.I.D. for six years throughout middle school and high school.
